When
in
1974, at the time when the long distance breeding was launched
by the National Park of the Cévennes, two other stallions
were competing with
Persik. They were called : Sirocco Sky and Gosse d’Avril
- Sirocco Sky from Poland
bred in England by the Marchioness Townsend.
It was purchased by the first association of breeders of the cradle
and then during a long time, until its death, has been the property
of the breeding of the Périgouse
and Jean-Pierre Pourquier. Sirocco Sky was an excellent stallion
that gave two winners, Orpin and Varech du Temple, but above all
Mobrouka, the best endurance maternal blood-line in Europe, which
itself gave birth to the winners : Kamaya,
Karavan, Movoska and Flegmatik. Sirocco Sky was the father
of the most 60 classed in CEI. Jean-Pierre
with these origins got great results
in 2002 with Gus de Sky, sold to the UAE, and with Eccho de Sky
and Galaxie, both Top Ten in
2003.
- Gosse d’Avril was a stallion
hired to the national
Haras.
It gave us birth to an historical champion in
endurance MAO
IV, twice champion of Europe in 1987 and 1989.
- Nowadays, there are 19
privated stallions, and among them, the sons of Persik
like Roco Ibn Persik of course, itself brother of Dynamik, coming
from Dahman, Diarex, Fawzan, Djenoun, Zulus, Arzew, Masan
and Sirocco Sky which are bred on Persik’s land.
But Persik’s Land is also famous because of its winner
mother horses. It is exeptional when a mother
gives birth to one dozen foals and if it gives birth to a winner
or a Top
Five, or even to only three
Top Five, it is wonderful.
In Persik’s Land we have the great
chance of having several broodmares of different origins.
To honor them, we have called them « Grandes
Dames » - the biggest among them is Mobrouka (Sirocco
Sky x Irania par Bahran) which gave us 4
winners and the mother of some winners. |
